Live improvisational, experimental ambient music from some of Seattle’s elite producers and DJs backed by images from science-fiction and B-movie horror films? Plus absinthe drink specials? Sounds like a recipe for a sublime mindfuck.

That’s what a new free monthly at the Can Can called Monster Planet offers every second Monday. April’s menu of audio-visual weirdness features Gel-Sol, Brian Oblivion, Skoi Sirius, Electrosect, Leave Trace, and organizer William Mempa. The event runs from 9 pm-1 am; Can Can is located at 94 Pike St in the Pike Place Market under Left Bank Books.
